We’re getting right into the depths of my saved articles this week with the kind of info that will either leave me ready for a quiz night or feeling like I just lost a few brain cells and need to have my girlfriends on speed dial to discuss - lols this series almost happily feeds the tech algorithm…

CURRENT LOLS /

  • The Louvre Museum in Paris was robbed over the weekend (at 9:30am just half an hour after the museum opened) in just SEVEN minutes. They broke into the second-floor wing of the museum (Apollo Gallery) that holds the French crown jewels and snatched objects from two display cases dropping a crown worn by Empress Eugenie (Napoleon III’s wife) in their haste to leave and then they fled on motor scooters (how French). They literally used a lift mechanism on a truck to break into a window (can’t trust a cherry-picker nowadays can ya) - the simplest way to reveal just how shite the security really was in there. Wanna bet Netflix does a doc on this next year?

TEMPT ME WITH INTERIORS /

ATTENTION : SCANDI LIFESTYLE-MAXIMALIST-COLOUR LOVING GIRLIES - Damson Madder just brought out their Lifestyle AW25 range. The collection takes inspo from the comforts of home crafting - a nostalgic nod to winter rituals and vintage interiors. Polka dots adorn ceramic plates and mugs perfect for curling up next to the fire or hosting that ‘it girl’ brunch in the sun. Bold stripes, frilled dog collars, leopard print hot water bottle covers - its a Nara Smith wonderland.

Here’s a few of my faves below:

SHOWS TO WATCH THIS WEEK /

  • The Perfect Neighbour on Netflix: I have never quite bawled my eyes out in such a long time than this. If you think your neighbour is a bit shit for calling noise control on you, or stealing your bin, this neighbour takes the cake. The ending is so incredibly sad that I found myself clutching a pillow with tears running down my face.

Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica Wongso on Netflix: this complete breakdown of a murder via cyanide in this interview format is so good. I know this may be an oldie of a watch, but it’s filmed so meticulously and this father is determined to prove that it was his daughter’s best friend that poisoned his daughter with cyanide. I still think Jessica did it but the evidence presented in court is actually laughable.

Love Thy Nader on Disney: these four sisters have me hooked. Give me a sister reality show where they’re all trying to make it in the real world and drama just happens to inject itself in the midst.

FILMS COMING SOON /

  • Pedro Pascal can do no wrong and I’m definitely seeing another hit on the screens with Behemoth - Eva Victor will also be in it too and loved her film Sorry,Baby when it debuted at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival (it follows a reclusive college lit professor struggling with depression following a sexual assault). The fact that noone knows what this film is about except that it could be a psychological thriller (Tony Gilroy usually directs films along these lines), makes it even more intriguing.. its supposed to come out in 2026 so watch this space for another sugar daddy filmic delight.

Did someone say AFTERLIFE LOVE TRIANGLE? The trailer for Eternity courtesy of A24 did. Starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner, the premise of the movie is simple, her character Joan is dead and right after dying, she is reunited with both of her dead husbands and has a week to decide where she wants to spend eternity. The trailer is a hoot and tbh I can’t fault any of these actors and just adore Elizabeth Olsen (hello, how could we not adore an Olsen). It should come out sometime around the 26th November here in NZ.

BEAUTY NEWS /

  • HOURGLASS COSMETICS IS EXITING MECCA BEAUTY IN FEB 2026

Talk about the talk of the town… I’ve been used to influencers talking about this brand’s holiday palette for years and so when the infamous palette popped up with a less than aesthetically pleasing swan, I didn’t expect it to come with an exit either.

So what was the tea?

Basically Hourglass just wanted to sell their products through their own website but given the exclusivity contract they had with Mecca Beauty they obviously breached it. They were taken to court and Mecca won and so now Sephora will be carrying it and hence why we’ve seen all the marketing ramp up around the introduction of Victoria Beckham Beauty.

Whilst the momentum of Mecca won’t be decreasing any time soon, the comments sections on IG are full of disgruntled customers secretly glad for this switcheroo:

“It’s great news. A lot of people are feeling extremely disillusioned with Mecca because they never pass on the brand discounts and don’t carry the full brand range while preventing people from purchasing what they can’t get through Mecca from other retailers - including the brand’s own website - due to exclusivity deals… “

Also can we talk about this palette though? Why is everyone raving on about how ‘beautiful’ this palette cover is? Personal opinion of course but guys i’m not paying $184 for something resembling a Pokemon card:

AND OH GOD THE FOX ONE IS EVEN WORSE. Can you imagine pulling this out in the nightclub? Where’s the sheen? The glamour? The luxury?

  • If you have time to put on concealer this way, then do it.

I recently just watched a reel on IG that demonstrated in the best way possible the difference between applying concealer on someone young vs someone more mature and its lifechanging..

As well as showing the techniques in the simplest way possible, this vid lists the products used (hallelujah because there’s nothing worse than scrolling and finding just a bunch of hashtags and nothing to help you).

  • Kylie Jenner revived her 2015 “King Kylie” era by deleting her entire Instagram feed and released her 10 year anniversary campaign on Snapchat, announcing an LA pop up and reviving her iconic fan favourite products. The only question now is, are the fans still here to stay or have they now matured and moved beyond those little lip sets and bleeding lip graphics?

  • Kelly Rutherford aka she will always be known as Lily is just having a moment / that or i’m seeing her EVERYWHERE. She’s beauty and she’s grace, she’s forever Mrs Gossip Girl to us millennials and I’m here for it. As well as partnering with Biosil Beauty for their 30th Anniversary, the Songmont Song of Mont Brand Exhibition in Paris had Kelly featured amongst other talents such as ballet dancer Germain Louvet, Isabelle Huppert, Alexa Chung and singer Mikah.

WISHLISTING /

  • HARRIS TAPPER SHORT SLEEVE ORWELL POLO

We’re heading into summer and for a gal that dresses purely as if Wednesday Addams resides in her home, this polo in black seems like the perfect ‘I’m not trying but somehow I look chic to everyone else’ option. They’re really not wrong when they say that basics should really make up a capsule and this is one of them.

  • LOW CLASSIC HARICOT BAG

The brief is simple: we want The Row crossed with Margesherwood crossed with old money classic… I give you the Haricot. Constructed from glossy lambskin leather, the tote features a central magnetic closure and internal buckle strap. It really is the carry all to all carry all’s and all I can think about is how amazing this would be for all the books I can’t decide between reading in a single day.
